Recently, Liaoning Fu'an Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Fu'an Heavy Industry") has once again achieved technological breakthroughs in the field of hydropower integrated casting wheel manufacturing. Following the successful delivery of integrally cast runners to GE Vernova Türkiye CEVIZLIK Hydropower Station and Highbank Hydropower Station in New Zealand in 2023 and 2024, the Armenia Argyle Hydropower Station integrally cast runner project undertaken by Fu'an Heavy Industry successfully passed the acceptance of customers and the hydropower station expert team, which marks a new step in the manufacturing capacity of large and complex integrally cast runners of Fu'an Heavy Industry.

The precision machining product of the fully cast impeller for the Armenia Arger hydropower station, which was undertaken for manufacturing this time, is the core component of the water turbine unit. The net weight of the product is 6.004 tons, the maximum outer diameter is 2.4 meters, and the height is 0.7 meters. Its processing difficulty and manufacturing accuracy are at the advanced level in the industry. Compared to previous products, the number of blades in this wheel has increased from 13 to 19, with a minimum spacing of only 46 millimeters between blades and a doubled blade curvature. The complex irregular surfaces and extremely narrow flow channel spaces pose challenges to the entire process of casting, smelting, processing, precision grinding, and quality inspection.

Faced with technical difficulties, Fu'an Heavy Industry demonstrates the spirit of "daring to tackle tough problems". The company has established a special research and development team, which brings together senior engineers from various fields such as casting, smelting, processing, precision grinding, welding, and testing. By fully drawing on the successful experience of projects such as CEVIZLIK and Highbank, and fully utilizing simulation technology, the team has successfully overcome key technical bottlenecks such as internal quality control in narrow spaces, high-precision forming, precision machining, and non-destructive testing. This once again confirms Fu'an's systematic research and development capabilities in the field of integral casting wheels.

During the strict product acceptance process, a team of seven experts including turbine designer Alexander, metalworker Asheeva, and material quality engineer Daniel conducted a comprehensive and rigorous review of the entire cast wheel. Designer Alexander praised, "The quality of the cast wheel delivered by Fu'an Heavy Industry exceeded our expectations and can be regarded as an industrial artwork." This high praise from an international customer is not only a recognition of Fu'an Heavy Industry's technical strength, but also an affirmation of China's high-end equipment manufacturing level.

The Arger Hydroelectric Power Station (formerly known as the Gumush Hydroelectric Power Station) is a large-scale and highly efficient hydroelectric power station located in Armenia. The power station is located on the left bank of the Razdan River, with a designed water flow rate of up to 90 cubic meters per second. Its hybrid drifting system is ingeniously designed, and the water source comes from the Akhpar Reservoir, which has a ten-year regulation capacity. The supporting drainage tunnel is connected to the entrance of a 293.2 meter long pressure pool, and load regulation and emergency reserve are carried out through a daily regulating pool. The regulating capacity reaches 300000 cubic meters, and the energy reserve is 194000 kilowatt hours, playing a crucial role in peak shaving and supply guarantee in the Armenian national power grid.
